1. What amenities are in the cottages?
- Each cottage is equipped with almost
everything you would need for a lengthy stay. All cottages have air
conditioners, heaters and fans.
- Kitchen: fridge, stove, microwave,
coffee pot, tea pot, toaster, dishes, silverware, pots and pans, tea
towels, cutting boards.
- General use: TV, CD player, radio, alarm
clock, DVD/VCR player, some tapes and music,
cards, games, books.
- Bathroom/Bedroom: all towels and
bedding.
- Outside: Large decks ,Gas BBQ, patio
tables and chairs, wiener sticks, fire pits on the beach, fire pots on
each deck, loungers.
2. How are the cottages situated?
- All three cottages are waterfront,
nestled under a canopy of 100 year-old trees. They have their own yard
area but are in view of each other.
3. Are pets allowed?
- We are sorry that we are unable to
accept pets. This insures that any guests with allergies will not be
bothered.
4. Are fires allowed?
- Fire pits on the beach and fire pots on
the decks are provided. Fires are permitted at both sites as long as
weather conditions are good and it is not too windy.
5. Is there a store or restaurant nearby.
- Silton, which is about 12 minutes away
has a clean and well-stocked general store. Lumsden which is 25 minutes
away has a very large well stocked grocery store. We suggest if our
guests are getting groceries in Regina, they USE A COOLER TO TRANSPORT
FOODS that need to be kept COLD.
- There is a small food bar at the
junction of highway 11 and 20 when turning at the Lumsden exit coming
towards Craven called the Snack Shack which serves a good variety of
hamburgers and ice cream etc. As well, Silton and Rowan’s Ravine
Provincial Park have small food bars.
6. Are there laundry facilities close by?
- Yes, Silton (12 minutes away) has a
clean Laundromat and carwash.
7. Are there fishing boats in the area to rent?
- G&S Marina at Rowan’s Ravine Provincial
Park( 10 minutes away) rents fishing boats, tackle and guides. Please
check their website for prices.

8. What is the lake like for swimming?
- Last Mountain Lake (nicknamed Long Lake)
is over 70 miles long and very deep in various parts. It is a typical
Saskatchewan Lake. We have built sand beaches for our guests use. The
shore is somewhat rocky but water shoes work great. The water
temperature is good for swimming. There are occasions when the
temperatures are extremely high with little wind, resulting in algae
settling on the lake. We suggest you do not swim at these times. Usually
this only lasts for part of a day.
